Ingredients

Each 5ml of syrup contains 2mg or chlorphenamine maleate as the active ingredient. The syrup also contains sucrose, glycerol, ethanol, tingle flavour, peppermint oil, water and as preservative a mixture of mthyl, ethyl and propyl hydroxybenzoates (E218, E214 and E216).

Warnings

Do not take this syrup if you are allergic to antihistamines or to any of the ingredients or if you have taken drugs for depression (MAOIs) within the past 14 days. Please see your doctor before taking if you have epilepsy, glaucoma, an enlarged prostate, an overactive thyroid, very high blood pressure or heart, liver or chest disease. Consult your doctor before taking if you are pregnant or breast-feeding. As with other antihistamines the effects of alcohol may be increased. May casue drowsiness.

Side Effects

The most common side effect is drowsiness. Occasionally some people may have difficulty concentrating, blurred vision, loss of appetite, indigestion or upset stomach, feeling or being sick, diarrhoea, tummy pain, liver inflammation, difficulty passing water, headaches, dry mouth, dizziness, palpitations, fast or irregular heartbeat, low blood pressure, chest tightness, thickening of phlegm, blood disorders, allergic reactions, twitching, muscular weakness, ringing in the ears, depression, irritability or nightmares and children may become exited and the elderly may become confused.
