Description

An antiplatelet agent which helps prevent blood clots in patients who have had a heart attack, stroke or heart bypass surgery or who have angina. Can help to prevent heart attacks and strokes in patients with previous history of these conditions. Can also be used following bypass surgery.

Ingredients

Aspirin Ph Eur 75mg and also lactose, sodium saccharin, starch, citric acid, calcium carbonate, talc, sodium lauryl sulphate

Warnings

Do not take if you have ever suffered from stomach ulcers, gout, haemophilia or if you are allergic to aspirin, other pain killers or any of the other ingredients. Speak to your doctor before taking if you suffer from asthma or are pregnant or breast-feeding. Do not take more than 4 doses in 24 hours. Aspirin has also been associated with increased risk of Reyes Syndrome when given to children with a fever. For this reason the use of aspirin is not recommended in children under 16 years of age unless on the advice of a doctor. If symptoms persist for more than 3 days consult your doctor.

Side Effects

Aspirin may sometimes cause the following side effects: irritation to or bleeding of the stomach, difficulty breathing or asthma attack in patients with a history of these and allergic skin reactions.
